I love the board. It cuts faster and harder than any board I've ever ridden. Tons of pop, and tons of air. This board definitely elevated my riding to a new level. Most of my friends are scared to ride it.

I am coming from an inexpensive center fin board. I had to work very hard to get any pop from that board and it did not slide well on the top of the wake.

The Substance rides totally different. The board feels more like a wakeskate then a wakeboard. Turns are very sharp and sure of themselves. Sliding on the top of the wake is much easier as well. The board "grabs" the top of the wake and just sits there until you pop off of it.

I have ollied over some pretty tall 3 foot exercise balls floating in the water and cleared them with ease.

Off the tip of the wake the board sends you into the air. I landed several 360s with ease; a trick that was difficult with the old board. The hardware that comes with it (2 - one inch slider fins) is of high quality however I choose to ride the board without fins. It feels amazingly stable without fins. You do not have to work at getting air with this board. The Hyperlite Evo 142 board did not have this much pop.

Although it is not a pro board - the ripper status on Liquid Force's website holds true. It is just below a pro level board but $100s less then the cost of one. I would purchase this product again.

Although I love how it rides and I like the design of the board (because it has a purpose in mind) the ends of the board are sensitive to wear and tear. You must be careful to set the board down lightly and it should not be stood up on it's side without having a soft surface underneath it. Also, a pet peeve of mine, it is white. I love the colors and the shinny top on the board but it almost makes you not want to ride in order to keep it clean. Rubber from board racks will make it dirty. Not a big deal with many of us.

The screw holes were slightly rough the first time I put on my bindings. They got easy to take on and off (not that I do it that often at all) but I wanted to point that out. It is never good to strip out a board! Beware the first time you set this board up.

I am a beginner, and this board feels like it is a little bit much for me right now. I have only had it out once and I started to get a feel for it towards the end of the day. It seems like a great board and my more advanced friend's loved the board. It is a huge step-up from 1999 board, but from what I can tell so fa it is a great board.

It is super fun, but i am use to a hyperlite byerly and this board seems to catch the nose easier on sketchy landings. It carves great, slides sideways good, just feels a little small. I weigh 150 and my dad weighs 190, we both ride it, i just liked my old byerly 143 better when on the water. This board is lighter to move around in the air though!!

I would recommend this board. My wife who is learning to ride along with an experienced very aggressive rider both enjoyed the board.
