Great, stiff boot with awesome heel hold

Comments about Salomon Malamute Snowboard Boots 2010:

I've been riding for 20+ years. Much of that in hard boots, but some in softies too. The Malamutes are a good, stiff responsive boot, but super comfortable at the same time. I wear a size 10 street shoe (on the wider side), and a 27.5 ski boot and 27.5 hard snowboard boot. I got the 9.5 (27.5) and once I'd worn them for a day and a half, they fit perfectly (left heel was a bit weird that first day, but great now).

This is a perfect boot for big mountain, carving, powder, jumping, boardercross, etc. I'm not a park rat so it is hard for me to comment in that department.

The heel hold-down mechanism inside the boot works great. It does make it a bit difficult to take the liner out/in, but once you've done it a time or two, no big deal. You do need to make sure the heel hold straps are lined up properly when replacing the liner.
