Salomon Czar Skis 2010: The Salomon Czar Skis are built for every backcountry enthusiast who wants to ski the deep stuff till it’s tracked and hit the groomers and all-mountain terrain after lunch. With a 111mm waist width and Salomon’s Rocker Technology in the tip, the Salomon Czar floats through the pow effortlessly while the wider edges and Pulse Pad absorb high-speed vibrations and shaky landings. Don’t be held back by powder or all-mountain specific skis, get the Salomon Czar Skis and ski the entire mountain all in one day.
  • Core and Flex Pattern – Full wood core from tip to tail offers optimum stability on snow and powerful rebound maximizes ski/snow contact and filters vibrations. The Salomon Czar Skis also feature wider edges for increased durability and imported shock resistance without sacrificing flex. // Salomon’s Pulse Pad offers an elastomer layer along the front of the ski and edge for better shock absorption and anti-vibration for smoother and softer ski/snow contact.
  • Construction – Double Edgy Monocoque construction offers precise edge grip, no excess material and efficient energy from skier to snow for freeski practices. // P-tex 4000 is a very high molecular density base perfect for gliding and provides excellent wax absorption and great abrasion resistance.
  • Shape – The Salomon Czar Skis feature Salomon’s Rocker Technology that offers inverse camber in the front part of the skis while keeping a traditional camber underfoot and tail for better float in the powder while still maintaining all-mountain performance.
  • Binding Compatibility - Compatible with ski bindings brake widths between 110-125mm

Comments about Salomon Czar Skis 2010:

This is the ski I've been waiting for. Skis NW Cascade and Central B.C. expert terrain better than anything else. Deep snow, chop, tight chutes and trees are a breeze with these floaty, maneuverable boards. An added bonus... the rocker tip smoothes out moguls that have been hacked up by snowboarders. While not a GS board, they held on as we mached Revelstoke's steep groomers. FYI, I'm 6", weight 165 pounds and ski the 181's mounted with Marker Duke AT bindings. My skins for a narrower ski work on these., too.

So good, I'm heading out to by my wife a pair of 174s for Christmas! Pray For Snow.

Comments about Salomon Czar Skis 2010:

This ski does a few things very well and other things not well at all. This is not your every day ski as it doesn't have the necessary side cut to make it fun on the hardpack and front side terrain. That being said, if you are looking for a solid ski for the soft snow and touring, this is a great tool. It is light enough to sling around on the way up the hill and still stiff enough to handle variable conditions and terrain. The early rise in the tip allows for floatation and maneuverability in deeper snow.

Overall I enjoyed this ski when in the right conditions, but when the snow got firm or I was skiing the front side, I was wishing for a different tool.
