Rossignol S7 Barras Skis 2010: The Rossignol S7 Barras Skis are the most revolutionary powder twin tip to hit the backcountry. Says Rossi team rider Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, “It makes me look at terrain in a whole new light. I can slash and smear wind-lips, pockets, pillows and spines that were previously out of play.” And Sage knows what he’s talking about. Thanks to rocker technology, Rossignol has created the perfect powder tool for backcountry skiers who have a fetish for skiing the deep.
  • Core and Flex Pattern – Wood
  • Construction – Rossignol Amptek Technology which combines early-rise tip and tail, camber underfoot, reverse sidecut in the tip and tail, and sidecut underfoot.
  • Shape – Rossignol’s new revolutionary Amptek Profile features standard sidecut underfoot for grip on hardpack with reverse, pin shape sidecut at the tip and tail for floatation in powder. This gives the ski a more slash-and-buttery feel.
  • Binding Compatibility – Requires a wide brake. Waist width varies depending on length.

Comments about Rossignol S7 Barras Skis 2010:

This is far-and-away my favorite ski I've ever owned. I am primarily into seeking out stashes and steeps, and these are the ultimate weapon for me. For folks that are into landing or skiing switch in the pow, you may be happier on something with a fatter tail. However, if you ski hard and face-first and are looking for something that isn't a noodle, but has a fun, powerful, versatile, and (did I mention) ridiculously fun ride, look no further. They're stiff and stable under foot and have a bit of side-cut, so they feel like little slalom skis on the groomed and in the bumps. Once you get them in the deep, they really come alive, and you can do basically anything -- butter, bounce, bomb, bonk, backflip baby-step, you name it. Make sure to get a longer ski than you're used to. I normally ski a 178-182 and have absolutely zero trouble with the 188's. Mount them +3 and get ready to feel invincible.

Comments about Rossignol S7 Barras Skis 2010:

As advertised, these skis are pretty good in the POW. However, they are definitely not the best POW ski out there. I like what Line and K2 are doing better in terms of deep snow skis.

If youre used to a more narrow cambered ski the S7 could be a good transitional ski, but eventually you must go fully rockered and fatter!
