I use them to ride trails and parks. They have solid structure and dont hurt my feet much at the end of the day, unless i dont get them tight enough, which happens sometimes. the little sock-grabber material on the back of the calf can also grab skin toe-side, but its more of an annoyance than a problem. not a deal breaker. the ankle is molded pretty well, and the feet are comfy, but i had to order a half size larger in ride boots than i would otherwise.
