My daughter used these boots last season and loved them. I'll probably buy the next size up for this season. She wore them for park/pipe, powder, steeps, and even racing.

It is important to show them how to individually adjust the liner plus the lower and upper sections of the boot. Once kids figure out the lacing system and how to adjust the two sections of the boot, it works well and they can get them on/off quickly.

To my surprise, my daughter actually preferred these, when combined with her Flow bindings, in a slalom race - over her hard boots and plate bindings. I'm not sure if that was because they were more comfy than the hard boots, or because she was more familiar with her soft boot setup, but she did fine racing in them. She is only 10 and not in a super-competitive group so peak performance wasn't of the utmost importance.

She probably rode 30-35 days on these last season. When she wears them, they stay on most of the day (8-4ish). They're still in great shape and if they weren't a bit too snug, she could easily get another couple seasons out of them.

These would also probably make a good boot for smaller, lighter women. My daughter is 4'10" and ~90lbs.
