Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Binding 2008:

I just started snowboarding this year and I picked up these bindings primarily because they were cheap and from a well known brand. I paired them with a Burton Clash. I have no prior experience with bindings other than the rentals so please take my comments accordingly. Do they work? Yes. Are they particularly well made? No. As another reviewer said, I also had problems with the piece that connects the ankle strap. I took my board out last week and discovered the piece had flat out disappeared! Luckily, I was ten feet from the lodge where they kindly fixed it for free. Also, the ratchet mechanism isn't all that great. It sometimes takes a few tries to unlatch and it isn't smooth. Would I recommend them to another beginner for 50% off? Yes. Will I be looking at something else when I upgrade my snowboard/binding combo? Yes.

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Binding 2008:

DEFECTIVE! I took mine out for the first time today, and the front buckle screw popped off when I tightened it for the first time. That's like, 3 seconds into use! haha, what a joke. The part that popped off is the adjustable screw that locks the front strap.

I took the left front strap off, thinking I could at least get downhill with the left main strap, and both the right foot straps... until the exact same part on the right strap popped off too!!

The defect is that the screw threads get "dethreaded", and the screw popps out... Now that I've seen the 2 screws fall out, I looked at the binding... To my amazement, ALL of their locking mechanisms use the same mechanism. You got it, the screw. So there you have it.... a binding that's "totally screwed".

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Binding 2008:

As much as I have enjoyed Ride bindings, this particular pair failed me. I went through three pairs in less than one season. they broke in a different place every time too. I really wanted to like these bindings because they felt good and performed well for the most part, but due to the unreliability of them, i would just say no.

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Binding 2008:

Great binding, I'm just starting out. Very easy to strap in/out once adjusted to your boot. Aluminum design provides solid strength for any use. Only gripe is that it seems a little narrow near the toe - I had bought a pair of DC's to ride with and the boot was too wide, ended up exchanging for a more narrow Burton, so make sure everything fits before you buy!! Overall, thought, I would still recommend.

Service & Delivery comments:

Awesome prices! Delivery could have been a tiny bit faster, but since I'm on the east coast I can't complain too much. I guess we all want instant gratification.
