i am just a Prairie Girl from Canada, but when you spend almost everyday on the hill these are the skis. The twin tip makes them go everywhere, from the blacks diamonds into the park. They are wide yet still able to have a decent turning radius. I love My Roxy Black Magic skis!! Bring on winter

Comments about Roxy Black Magic Skis - Women's 2008:

The Black Magic are the best for skiing at my home mountain of Crested Butte where in one run I go straight from the steeps into the park. The ultimate do everything ski for us ladies. Roxy got construction dialed with a wide enough ski for big mountain with incredibly light swing weight and easy maneuverability with tons of energy that's still great in the park. Right on!

The Black Magic is as versatile as your dark denim bootcut jeans. With the Black Magic, you can charge with the guys in the backcountry, hang with your girls in the park or race your boyfriend down the bumps. Plus, these skis are as cute as this season’s patent leather clutch. I love Black Magic and you will too!

Comments about Roxy Black Magic Skis - Women's 2008:

Immediately I was impressed by the stability of these skis at high speeds down icy, steep terrain. In rocky chutes, I loved the maneuverability. Skiing switch has never been more fun and jibbing is breezy. I also love the motorbike riding demons in the graphics and skulls and stars and butterflies. They are truly magical and I look forward to skiing them this winter.

East Coast Loves this Bad Girl too
By Green Mountain Girl from Killington, VT on 9/28/2007
Pros:
Carving Ability, Durable, Scratch Resistant
Best Uses:
Backcountry, Downhill
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Roxy Black Magic Skis - Women's 2008:

This hot pair of sticks is sending it on the East Coast too. The variety of off-piste conditions that it gnaws through is extraordinary, while still having plenty of carving ability (key for those cold, hard East Coast conditions). It is tough to get a backcountry modifier into that binding. This ski is super versatile, and gorgeous to boot.

Comments about Roxy Black Magic Skis - Women's 2008:

When I first clicked into these skis, it was an icy day, and we were mostly skiing groomers, so I wasn't sure how these skis would do. However, once I got up to the top of the lift and pointed 'em downhill, I was able to really tip this ski on edge and rip laid out GS turns down some groomers. It was surprising at first. On the way down the hill, I noticed some little jumps on the side of the hill, which my friends were all hitting. Again, with such a big ski, I wasn't sure how they would do, but the flex in the tip allowed me to really pop up, and I feel like I was able to get a couple extra feet of air on these skis. It was so fun!

Of course they are awesome in the powder too, tearing through untracked (while you float on top) and ripping through choppy crud. One of my favorite uses for them is hitting backcountry booters. The width of the ski allows you to stomp all your landings (as well as the big twin tip), and the flex is perfect for jibbing!

However, these skis would suit you well in any application, and they look gorgeous too. I love the rhinestone heart eye inside the skull and crossbones.

skiing is fun on these skis

Durable, Floats in powder, Super fun, Versatile
Best Uses:
Anywhere on the mountain
Bottom Line:

Comments about Roxy Black Magic Skis - Women's 2008:

The Roxy Black Magic Skis are so versatile. I find that the 92mm waist width is fun for going everywhere. My Black Magics like skiing the crud and deep, creamy northwest pow but they still love to make medium turns on groomed runs. I can maneuver through tight spots, hold an edge on hard snow or just goof around because the Black Magic has enough flex making it lively and fun. I can’t say I spend much time going backwards on purpose (there is a good chance if I am going backwards that I may head up on my head) but the kicked up tails have another purpose. They will keep others off your heels in a shower of snow. I think the graphics are fun and feminine but not too girly.

This is a wonderful ladies all mountain ski. It works wonders in powder, crud, and bumps. It is certainly forgiving enough for an advanced intermediate, but has enough power for an expert skier. It is appropriately named because it really works like magic.
Also, you gotta love the graphics.

Comments about Roxy Black Magic Skis - Women's 2008:

For girls who ski better than boys, this is the big mountain stick to get it done! Steeps, chutes and playing in the backcountry... The Black Magic handles it with ease. If you are looking for a deep powder ski, this may not be your donut, but other than that it blows through heavy snow and crud like a chopstick does wonton; and that's good eatin'!

Roxy Black Magic Skis 2008- The Roxy Black Magic Skis will teach you the dark art of ripping. Off a little drop, around the big rock, up the ridge, over by that tree: with a little black magic, those daredevil turns are yours for the taking. Nice wide boards and Spring Blade technology underfoot gives this twin tip plenty of pep for airs and almost other-worldly floatation on powder.
  • Air Ski- Roxy’s Air category includes twin tips that are great in the park and pipe as well as the rest of the mountain.
  • Wood Core- Quick and lively on-snow feel, great for launching air
  • Spring Blade Technology- Layers of fiberglass built up in the middle potion of the ski provide incredible rebound. Big airs, butters, rails, and ollies will have more pop and smoother landings.
