Rossignol SAS S5 Barras Skis 2009 - Sin number 5 Greed - Rossignol is ready to take you to the ultimate of excess: the SAS S5 Barras Skis. The Rossignol SAS S5 Barras Skis were created with a dual wood core, a hybrid of two separate woods that will make you crave the feel and flex. You will covet the Rossignol SAS S5 Barras Skis weight reducing system patented by Rossignol. The SAS S5 Barras are the future of all mountain skis. Whether it is throwing down switch 10 in the park or skiing bottomless powder, the S5 is all about versatile. The 98mm waist combined with a progressive sidecut gives the rider a huge advantage in soft snow and facilitates hookup on the groomers. The S5 is the KING of "The New School" all mountain skis. With athlete insight and the artistic touch of legend, Will Barras, the Rossignol S5 Barras Skis will have you piggishly hoarding them, which is exactly what Will Barras wanted: “I did a unique piece for both the top-sheet and the base of the ski. As you can see the base of the greed ski shows a man flying in clouds of jewellery and the same man on the top-sheet is willing to die to catch a diamond.”

  • Tri Core- A hybrid core made from three different materials: Poplar for lightness and liveliness; Fume wood for quick response and ski-to-snow feel and Microcell for absorbing shocks and vibrations.
  • WRS- Weight Reducing System – patented by Rossignol. Intelligent distribution of fibers in the ski structure to balance flex, reduce weight, with no loss to resistance. This technology was developed and tested by Candide Thovex. Weight saving 400g per pair with constant flex and resistance properties
  • Will Barras, as a rider and artist, how important are board graphics to you? “I’m not really a rider.... but I like the canvas to be a usable object, a means of transport. So the artwork for me should be an extension of the board or skis dynamic capability, or maybe offer a narrative involving it or the rider. If you look at the greed skis you can see the way the character reaches towards the front of the skis almost like it’s greedy to move forward fast!”

Comments about Rossignol SAS S5 Barras Skis 2009:

i love these skis, i have them in 185 they are a big step from what i used to ride (Line invaders 171) but suprisingly they are playful on gromers and awesome on kickers, off and on piste.
They spin with eas and land pretty well switch in pow. the float is not all bad but i could use some stiffer boots for more control

Comments about Rossignol SAS S5 Barras Skis 2009:

They sink in deeper snow (over 1 and half feet), land cliffs pretty well, work well on groomers and park, but seem best suited to powder kickers because of the extra width. They don't land well backwards in powder well

Comments about Rossignol SAS S5 Barras Skis 2009:

These are the best looking skis I have ever seen! I've skied the Brigade's (I think this is it?) and they are so solid for ripping everything on the mountain, so good for skiing the tree's, freshies, smooth fun everwhere from the big peaks to groomers and the park this shape is just so versatile. And the new art is amazing!
