Comments about Dynastar Legend 8000 Skis 2007:

I have skied several hundred days on these skis. Got them back when they first come out, and I love them. I live in the east, and so a lot of skiing in the ice and glades. They are a little heavy and hard to get a real good mogul line down though. Other then being heavy, they are nice and stiff and push through crud. When these things break, I will be buying another pair!

Comments about Dynastar Legend 8000 Skis 2007:

Only used this product once, spring skiing at Killington with 8" new snow and a lot of hardpack/ice. This ski was so stable grab on ice and floated well in the soft stuff. Confidence inspiring. Makes you feel like a better skiier. Transitions from harpack to crud to soft stuff was amazing.

Get yourself a pair!

Comments about Dynastar Legend 8000 Skis 2007:

Terrific ski. Have tried the B-2's & loved them. Tried these & had to have them. Never had a ski that carved so well. Being 165's was able to tackle things I've floundered on before. My only complaints are the predominately orange color; it is 100 gm heavier than the 2008 model; & when there is 18" of powder it is tough to stay on top of it. Course in those conditions you'd be better off w/a pair of Guns.

Comments about Dynastar Legend 8000 Skis 2007:

Just finished a weekend at Mad River on conditions form windblown crust about 10-12" deep to ice, to breakable crust and about everything in between. I have been on better powder skis, better crud busters skis and better ice carvers but never on anything that could do all things so well. Extremely versatile. Easy to handle. Light but very stable. great in bumps. Surprising flotation in windblown crud I went short since I spend so much time in the trees.... I was worried about stability at speed but it seemed to hold almost as well as a heavier ski 10cm's longer. Great buy

Comments about Dynastar Legend 8000 Skis 2007:

Took them to Salt Lake City and skiied for 5 days in varying conditions from hard pack to powder. They performed flawlessly, good float in the powder and could really lay them down on the groomers. Short turn took some energy to complete but could be done. They also performed very well in moguls.

All around ski for western conditions
By TimVerified Buyer from Vail, Colorado on 3/10/2008
Pros:
Does many things well, Good Carving Ability, Good Grip, Smooth Ride
Cons:
Not a niche ski
Best Uses:
Crud busting, Moguls, Powder, Telemarking
Describe Yourself:
Advanced Skier
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Dynastar Legend 8000 Skis 2007:

I bought these skis (172) to set up as telemark skis after skiing a similar pair set up as alpine skis for two seasons. A good one "ski does everything" all mountain ski for western U.S. conditions.
They work great on soft snow, crud busting, and "non epic" powder. Probably not my first choice for hard pack and groomers. Or on a 24" powder day. But they can hold a decent edge and carve when needed. And float in the powder when asked to.

Very well behaved skis in all conditions
By Oregon-MKVerified Buyer from Oregon on 2/27/2008
Pros:
Durable, Good Carving Ability, Good Grip, Great Flotation, Lightweight, Smooth Ride
Cons:
Takes a bit longer to wax
Best Uses:
Downhill, Icy Conditions, Moguls, Powder
Describe Yourself:
Intermediate Skier
Bottom Line:

Comments about Dynastar Legend 8000 Skis 2007:

These are very stable skis whether you are cruising or ripping down the frontside. Combined with a Marker piston 1400 binding - the ride was surprisingly smooth over crud and early morning ice and chunks. The grip is almost as good as my Rossi Z9 on hard ice, but much less chatter overall. These also work really well through ungroomed drops and moguls - flexible and easier to control while maintaining good grip - excellent combination of characteristics. I've not tried these in powder but expect it to have good floatation, maybe not as good as the Legend 8800 or this year's Mythic Rider which a friend really liked. Overall, these were a great buy and easy to ride all day long. My Rossi Z9s have been left behind in the garage ever since I got these. The only complaint is it takes longer to wax around the hull shape.
