Tecnica Modo 8 Superfit Ski Boots 2008 - Fits like spandex, as comfortable as your birthday suit, as useful as duct tape. Slip into the Tecnica Modo 8 and go anywhere in comfort and control. Improve your skiing skills or just enjoy the slopes with all day skiability. Tecnica is leading the revolution in recreational skiing comfort and stability with its Modo ski boot line. This softer Modo boot allows a novice-intermediate skier the comfort to ski all day and the construction to advance and hone skills on and off piste.
  • PCS Liner System: Expanded liner allows room for new Ethafoam, an extra cushioning, slow-memory foam that cushions well and comfortably. Extra room in the last also allows for a thick multilayer footbed for enhanced shock resistance. Ski-Walk Device: A device in the rear allows extra expansion in walk mode so you get extra comfort when walking.
  • 3 Density Construction: The Mode 3D construction is a 50/50 hard soft shell construction that allows easy entry and exit, and comfortable wrapping.
  • Velcro PowerStrap and Modo Alu Micro Buckles: New low profile design. Resistant to impact and twisting, micro-adjustable
  • Triple Position Cuff Catches: The two cuff catches can be easily moved to fit varying leg shapes. The positioning catches have a range of 44mm: 22mm forward and 22mm back. Simply use the tool provided to remove the screws and the plate on the inside. Move the catch to the desired position. Reinsert the screws and the back plate. Tighten. Hinged Instep Catch: The instep catch is on a hinge allowing it to adjust for better pressure distribution and closure. It can pivot away from the shell allowing the shell to spread without interference allowing easy entry & exit.
  • UltraFit Liner: Outer ethafoam conforms to shell, and pre-molded thermoformable EVA fits to your foot

The first day these boots were highly uncomfortable... but the second day they felt much better, and by the fourth day either I had broken the boots in or they had broken my feet in, but they were great! I'm going to get a lot of use out of these boots.

This could be the worst boot I have ever put my foot into... The top is hard plastic and poorly padded causing your foot to hurt. I had my foot in this boot for about 2 minutes and my foot still hurts from it. Horrible Boot, avoid at all costs.

For this price I think its great! Probably better than great. I needed to send one pair back though because it was too small for my big toe even though I gave myself the right sizing following the size chart that they have on the homepage.

As an intermediate+ skier this is the right level boot for me. It is true to size, comfortable and gives me the right level of performance. I only have a few years experience on skis and tend to ski on some black runs and blue runs with moguls. I live on the east coast so I will be skiing in many icy conditions; however, I also went skiing in the Austrian alps with loads of powder and the boots were great.

My only slightly negative comment about the boots is that the buckles seem a bit flimsy. That's not to say they don't hold; it may simply be from an aesthetic point of view. I still recommend these boots.
