Comments about Lange Freeride 130 Ski Boots 2008:

The boot skis great, but when it flexes the shell opens up and fills between the shell & liner with snow. I glued Foam in spots between staps and shell. It helps but the translucent shell lets you see all the snow in there.

Awesome boot for precise control
By AustinTnaciousVerified Buyer from Seattle / Inverness, Scotland on 1/12/2010

Comments about Lange Freeride 130 Ski Boots 2008:

For the amount of money Lange want(ed) for these boots at MRRP ($700+ I think) they should have given them a few more bells and whistles. (And why don't ski boot makers put in decent footbeds anyway?)Then again, if you get the fit right who needs bells and whistles? One Major con with these boots is that snow works its way into the overlap over your toes and you end up getting soaked inside. The black rubber stopper is next to useless at keeping snow, ice, water out. . . but maybe I just ski too fast or woteva. Init? Also, the stupid little velcro straps on the cuffs of the liner. Like what exactly was the point of that? And the velcro-in ankle shims, oh and the short buckles. It all seems like these boots were designed for skinny-stick-men.If you have them, and you like how they ski but they really hurt, put longer bails on the buckles, shim up your heel and maybe have the plastic stretched. I did and now they're my 2nd all time fave boot. . .[...]

Comments about Lange Freeride 130 Ski Boots 2008:

Very straightforward boots, have skied them on everything from eastern ice to western powder and crud, and they're great. More pros: Rear spoiler position is adjustable, power strap is beefy and really works (took awhile to find how tight I wanted it), nice liner (comfortable)for a stock liner. Cons: tough to remove when cold, but most boots worth skiing are that way. These are great performing, very responsive boots.

Comments about Lange Freeride 130 Ski Boots 2008:

I wear these boots tight from 8:30 to 4:20 without having to unbuckle them during any part of the day. Although rated a 130 flex, my 190 pounds keeps me in the front seat on every type of ski I own. The flex amazes me, as I am cranking down narrow trails, the stiffness doesn't seem drastic, even in 15 below temperatures. No leaks when plowing through late April standing water on trail.

Comments about Lange Freeride 130 Ski Boots 2008:

This is a great all mountain boot. Once I had the pinch points worked on at the Boot Doctor. I have worn size 9-1/2 Lange boots for 30 years and these are my all time favorite. I removed the velcro tongue adjustments as for me, they were not useful and kind of a pain in the rear. Stiff when it is cold, but a warm boot that I think will hold up well.

... and I haven't skied them yet. What I mostly wanted to comment on was that I do NOT find them difficult to get on and off (as the other reviews seem to agree on) even though the fit is very tight in the arch and the calf. Easy buckling with good adjustments - very lightweight for a stiff boot - top shelf construction. I love them already and I haven't even used them.

Comments about Lange Freeride 130 Ski Boots 2008:

Great super stiff boot for steeps, powder and morning corduroy. You can't beat that price either. They are 130 flex so of course they are hard to get in and out of and if you get the correct size (SMALL AS HELL) they are uncomfortable too, but you can really mock in these. Only real complaint is the elastic velcro strap, strip this and replace with a booster strap and you're good to go.
