Another high performance boot from Dolomite the Rage X8 features Torsion Control System. TCS is an innovative sole consisting of two longitudinal rods that sandwich a low torsion beam. The system is designed to counteract torsional stresses created by an aggressive skier. It results in precise, accurate skiing. You will feel secure skiing the Rage X8 with the active pivoting spoiler and twin tongue liner. The spoiler creates a perfect wrap keeping constant contact with the calf during forward flex.
  • Vibration Dampening Sole- VDS features a bi-injection design. Rigid material makes precision contact with the binding. Less rigid VDS polymer acts as the dampening component, designed to eliminate vibration caused by hard snow and varying conditions.
  • Canting- A canting device that allows the cuff to take three different lateral angles for best adaptation to the shape of the leg.
  • Form Fit Liner- The form fit liner is a thermoformable inner boot with special internal padding, which, brought to the right temperature by means of the specific fan heater, receives the skier's anatomical foot print the first time it is put on.
  • Macro Fit Ladder Easy Adjust- The racks on the cuff catches are fitted with a cursor that may be adjusted up to 14mm for personalizing the fastening. Great for particularly robust or excessively slender calves.

Comments about Dolomite Rage X8 Form Fit Ski Boot 2005:

This is the second pair of Dolomite's I've owned. The have great flex and are extreeeeemly comfortable. Never got cold, even at 4 below. I was concerned that the removal of the "45 degree" buckle I had on my Sintesi's would lessen the fit and control of the boot. A waste of thought process...
These things hooked up just fine. Even at high speeds(50+ on the GPS).

Comments about Dolomite Rage X8 Form Fit Ski Boot 2005:

I tested these boot recently on bumps, jumps, and cliffs (+/- 18-20ft). These boots are great, certainly for the price, they require a little breaking-in but thast can be helped by the thermoformable liner - just visit your local ski store [...]and get them pressed. The TCS and snug fit makes the boot responsive which is especially handy in rugged terrain. I landed some jumps and small cliffs and it gave a nice cushion. It is good, I imagine, for someone with a medium-slight width foot. Wider than alot of salomons I hear.

Great boot, great price, I have not tested it in the spriong but it might be a tad toasty.

Sexy Skis, Sexy Performance
By Miik RomeoVerified Reviewer from Salt Lake City, Utah on 10/16/2006
Pros:
Adjustability, Comfortable, Quality Construction, Warm
Cons:
Hot for spring skiers
Best Uses:
Downhill, Racing

Comments about Dolomite Rage X8 Form Fit Ski Boot 2005:

i use them alot in the backcountry of Utah out here, love the hight on them, ride them during race training for the lack of ankle movement. Puts movement were needed, restricts were it doesn't. gread boot, warm. fun is the slush, great support for the "drag spot" in the spirng. tends to get warm tho when the sun is on them, really warm. when it's 36 on the slopes with the sun out, that aint to comfortable, but great for night, powder, back country and groomer skiers alike. doesn't do too hot on mougles either (but neither do I).

Comments about Dolomite Rage X8 Form Fit Ski Boot 2005:

Based on what I could read and my experience with Dolamite boots I think I will be very satisfied. Unfortunately it is summer and temps are in the high 80's, making it near impossible to tell you first hand how good they react on the snow. Talk to me in December... I'll fill you in.

Loved the Boots
By White LightningVerified Reviewer from Brighton, UT on 7/30/2006
Pros:
Adjustability, Comfortable, Quality Construction, Warm
Best Uses:
Downhill, Racing, Trees

Comments about Dolomite Rage X8 Form Fit Ski Boot 2005:

Love the boots, work great for down hill training because of the stiffness, a little high, but i like em. Great in the trees, the take scratches well. warm, even on cold windy days. good all mountain boot. best ones i've tried so far. probably will keep these for a couple of years. not so hot for instructing, very stiff and ridged. not very flexable, but who wants flexable?

Nice Boot
By mlw from albany, ny on 6/30/2006
Pros:
Lightweight, Rugged, Warm
Cons:
"Narrowish", Stiff
Best Uses:
Recreational

Comments about Dolomite Rage X8 Form Fit Ski Boot 2005:

Overall a very good boot that is stiff enough for some nice downhill runs. I find that they can be a bit too stiff if youre just out taking it easy on some easier trails. Very warm and well padded. That being said if you have very wide feet you may have some issues with this boot especially if you dont ski enough to break them in

Seems great for the price
By Sanchez from Minneapolis, MN on 6/30/2006
Pros:
Rugged
Best Uses:
Comfort, Recreational

Comments about Dolomite Rage X8 Form Fit Ski Boot 2005:

Not sure I should be reviewing these yet because I got them in early summer and am waiting for snow, but I have tried them on so I can comment on that. Got these to replace some five-year-old Langes, and they're a world different in terms of fit. These are high-volume and very comfortable, although tight enough to give me some solid control. Sizing seems to be accurate - I'm a 28.5 or 29 and the 29 is plenty roomy, probably could've fit in the smaller size. Didn't have any prior experience with Dolomite, but quality seems to be excellent. Moderately stiff forward flex, and the really high cuff seems to accentuate this while remaining comfortable. For the price I can't imagine I could've done better.
