INTERVIEW

What do you like to do for fun? What are your other passions? What would you like to get into one day?
An element of evo that that puts a huge smile on my face is the blurring of the lines between snowsports. I’ve long identified as a skier and will always have a ton of fun skiing. However, I find that the most fun I have on the hill is when I’m progressing – learning something new or different. When you pick up a new sport (snowboarding in my case), you get a huge dose of stoke every time you’re out because, as a rookie, you learn so much each day. evo definitely encourages this ‘cross-over’ – partly as way to better connect to the ‘other half’ of our customers and partly because it’s so damn fun. Last winter we had a mandatory ‘Switch Up’ night ride session where all employees swapped gear – skiers with snowboarders and visa versa. With a couple cans of PBR (aka liquid courage) in the jacket to soften the falls', we charged out and had a blast. And that, in my opinion, is what evo is fundamentally all about: bringing a good mix of people together through sports, culture, art, music, fashion to have a grand ole time.

Interesting Tib Bit:
My girlfriend and I used to live in the suite on the bottom floor of Bryce’s house. Bryce lived upstairs. Bryce likes to breakdance. Let’s just say that he’s working hard on his “power moves” and I could tell from my living room that there’s room for improvement. On a related note, Bryce and I had a dance-off (break battle) in a small, very local, bar in Cascade, Idaho. He won by head-sliding across the beer soaked floor. I was happy for second place. See pics of my local Idahoan dance partner and I cutting rug.

What other companies/brands are killing it right now?
Transition Bikes(www.transitionbikes.com): big bikes are really, really fun. Field Productions (www.fieldproductions.com). Norwegians rip. K2. Pontoons are like big bikes for snow. Bryce said I’d s#!t my pants when I try them. I did. Paseo in Seattle has the best sandwiches on the planet. Hands down.
